It's here, and its sitting in the garage. She's still under wraps, but here's a quick snapshot of my summer project. Not quite as exciting as welcoming a new son or daughter into the world, but close!!!

I must admit that I'm jealous!

You really did buy a great boiler and with proper care it should last 100 years.

I'll be starting on it as soon as the heating season is pretty much confirmed to be over. Late April perhaps?

I'm wondering if I should unwrap it soon and let it breath so it doesn't run the risk of collecting moisture while sitting around in the garage for a few months while tucked up under all that plastic wrap. What is the advice of the group regarding this?

Lucky Dawg!! Why wait....go for it......and then we can talk about the NEXT big step: an AUGER feed from above.
Rest easy, most folks haven't figured out that oil is NOT going to go down, and Propane prices are like a Hot Air Balloon tethered to you wallet.......and trust me on this one, you don't and won't have enough "Ballast" to maintain control of that fuel! Ordered the delivery of the first TT load? :?:  ;)

As plans sit now it looks like directly above it will be the master bedroom of the house. That might make it a bit tough to have a coal bin drop in the coal from above (though I've thought of the idea).

Not up that high vertically, just over the hopper to a remote bin beside the boiler............... someplace convenient. The Master is safe.....don't want the partner 'freaking out' thinking an auger will be beside the bed!!!

Planning the layout will make things easier for years to come. Do you have a window near by ? The flow sack on a skid with a pallet jack is a good itea , or you could use a coffee table to move the coal around (I'm keeping my table) I didn't have a window where I needed it, so I cemented a 10" pvc pipe threw my block foundation to my bin. It's great not having to shovel coal (once it's in the bin :x )

I'd leave the wrap. You won't have to dust it once you pull it off. Also, it will save a lot of little "blemishes" that might occur during its transition from being a house guest to house heater.

You're going to love it! My buddy has one. He used to add one bag a day or 5 bags on Saturday, but discovered that it likes one bag a day better. He used to get the occasional "boom", but since he went to one bag a day, no booms. Odd, but true! It is a wonderful machine..... light it, add a bag a day & once in a while there won't be room for a bag, empty ashes as needed. One match a year, or one match forever, your choice. You've done a good thing!

It is like getting a "new girlfrirend" without all the trouble. If your bride is on board as was mine with my new Keystoker 90 you are all set. Just show it off :!: :!: ENJOY THE HEAT :P

Sweet. You are gonna love it.

I have a friend who has that model. He loves it. It heats his house and his two bay garage.
