I have a coal stove Alaska Channing III that I have used last heating season. I stumbled on a pipe deflector while searching the internet. I have read that heat exchangers on coal stove should not be used. Any thoughts on the pipe deflector. I have a SWG power vent.

Pipe Deflector
The only advantage to a deflector is keeping the heat away from a wall that has less than the propper pipe clearence. Its like the catalytic converter on your car--it has a heat sheild above so that the floor doesn't get hot.Porcine wrote:I have a coal stove Alaska Channing III that I have used last heating season.
