Ebay, Patriot Supply, or Pexsupply.

Ebay is the way to go for good deals if you can wait. I have used simplyplumbing.com, they have quick shipping. What model l6006 are you hunting ?

I've bought from Patriot Supply before years back. Great service & quick shipping. At the time they were the cheapest I could find. Haven't researched that lately though. It also depends on what your buying there. I haven't priced the L6006 so I can't help there.

I don't want to price one online, I bought mine at a local plumbing supply house so I'm sure I could have gotten one cheaper. By the way, it has "Made in Mexico" printed on it.

Thanks for all the replies.

I want to use it to shut off the DF-520 after an outfires. I didn't realize how many model numbers there were for the L6006. I have one on mine, but not sure what to buy. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

You need one that makes on rise. Letter ending in B like a L4006B1155. There are strap on models like a L6006C that make on rise. The differences are the differential (like 5 to 30 degrees) manual reset and the temp it sences. The majority use an immersion well that will fit in a pipe thread. Some are remote bulb that has a long lead(6' ?) from the aquastat to the bulb. Some are manual reset if it trips. Lowe's may carry the L4006B1155 that would work, you will need a bypass switch if the fire goes out till it's up to temp and that type goes in a immersion well fiting( sold separately )

You will need to mount it on the boiler(best at the highest point), not on the circulator pipes.

Mine is mounted on the supply pipe just above the port on the boiler, I also installed a bypass switch. I agree that having the control in an immersion well is a better idea.

I checked the boiler, and it has an immersion well installed in top left side near the front corner that is not being used. I don't know how deep it is, but will have to measure it.

Thanks.

https://customer.honeywell.com/techlit/pdf/60-000 ... 0-2104.pdf

I only have 1 immersion well on the 350, the aquastat is in it. There are other plugs, but without heating them I can't get any of them out, my torches are in storage, no tanks either. The L6006 is strapped to the pipe as close as possible to the port on the boiler.

I am also using the C version that is strapped on the supply pipe about 8" from the boiler itself.

Thankfully in 2 years it has never had to do its job. I hope it works I guess!

My chimney has excellent draft so that helps on the warm days.....
