What to Look 4 in a Used Boiler???

hi all, going to look at a EFM 520, used, problem is what do I look for,as far as the bad things ,or worn places ??? thank you , Tommy I don't want to pay to much ,if it needs to be rebuilt then that needs to be factored in at bid time

Definately look at the domestic coil area for deep rust pockets around the gasket area since this is usually a trouble spot, although even if it looks bad and the price is right for the boiler there are weld on coil plates to fix this problem. As for the stoker mechanism and pot there are a few things to look for there ,but kind of hard to explain unless you know your way around them. Remember that even if there are worn out parts in the stoker mechanism and pot there are readily available for replacement.

Check for a rusted out base $$$$ for a new one and hard to replace once up and running.
