Does anybody have any idea of what a new EFM 520 cost back in the late 50's or early
60's. Stoker and boiler, without installation.

That would be $3,654.22 to $7,308.45 in today's dollars, using 1960 as the year in this CPI calculator.
For example if you earn $1000.00 per week now it's equal to a $136.83 paycheck in 1960 dollars.

It's all relative....but it still sucks! Pelosi and Reid are probably trying some diversion as we speak....some call that the Massachusetts advantage up here. Smitty has some more more technical response I think!
Concerning the EFM pricing...not all of them are "Classics" Some are JUNK!...just like cars, houses, boats, planes, women....wait a minute, who stuck that one in there..... Like people, judge each and every one on a one-off basis.
Most are terrific, some need surgery to remove the 'pesky hair' that 'impacts' them!
Investment....people pay whatever makes them feel 'complete'. A hundred grand for a solar system, a hundred grand for a wind tower and generator, whatever the price of a new car or WORSE YET, a new truck that gets 10 MPG! WOW!!

When you say people, you mean the working man paying the taxes, right? Since I am subsidizing that windmill, etc.people pay whatever makes them feel 'complete'. A hundred grand for a solar system, a hundred grand for a wind tower and generator
