Anyone Using a Coal Boiler on the Cape?

I'm seriously thinking of installing one for next season and wondered if anyone has one and where did you buy it from.

I'm not on the Cape but I've got one and I love it. If you like saving money and don't mind tinkering there's nothing better. I used to burn wood and this is way better and alot less work. I bought mine from Complete Heat in NH. He's a member on here the forum. If you want to see my set-up let me know I'd be glad to show you.

What kind of heating system do you currently have? Hot water or hot air?

Where on The Cape are you...
How big of an area are you heating...
JP of Iron House fame runs an EFM at his farm...
But he takes his own TT loads 23 ton a whack...
Rice on The Cape is not common so you would need to plan ahead...
Same thing with Pea in any quantity...

I have forced hot water baseboard, but my gas boiler is gone. I've had it for only six years and used it for only one season. Apparantly it froze and is destryoed. I use a tempcoal2, but my fiancé would like the baseboard to work.

Capecoaler, I live in Truro. Funny, I was thinking of the efm, but I have never seen rice coal and was wondering if it was sold on the cape. I'm surprised that you have a hard time getting pea. I know the stove place 2 carried it about 7yrs ago and I would assume they still do. And I know agway sells it by the bag.

I don't have a hard time finding it...
It is just that to buy in bulk for Pea you have to plan ahead...
And on The Cape bulk Pea is hard to find...
Sure bagged Pea is avaliable but at a much higer price per ton...

Unless they've stopped in the past 7 years, the stove place in Harwich sells loose pea coal by the ton.
