Ran my 130 all weekend, had to force it to burn a few times since there wasn't much call for it. Cool piece of machinery isn't it?

It is like watching John Belushi. It has run about 18 hours now on a hatfull of anthracite, house was warm as toast. It stopped ashing about an hour and a half into the startup and has not ashed since. I'm assuming it wants to thin the fire with a thicker ashbed? I also set the viewing port cover out to about 5/8" as it was only open about 1/4" the way he had it. Is the purpose of this opening up to basically stall the boiler when the fan shuts down? Changing the pulleys around may have tamed the beast nicely, I cannot hear it run in the family room directly above it. Strangely enough, I haven't heard from that damn oil burner either come to think of it! I am a little worried about it overheating because it will be in the high 60*s today. I turned the aquastat down to 135*-155* and the timer is set for 1 minute an hour. I will run home at lunchtime to check on it, I may have to adjust some windowstats. It takes about 4 minutes to run the temp from min to max even under load, amazing device. The thing drafts better in this warm weather than the old hand fired I had in there.cabinover wrote:Ran my 130 all weekend, had to force it to burn a few times since there wasn't much call for it. This thing is ridiculous, it has been running 26 hours and it still isn't ashing. I thought this thing was a stoker? It isn't even using any fuel. It runs a little and stops to make you think it's doing something besides heating the house. What is that in the viewing port? A picture of burning coal?
Anyway, no overheat, not even close. Stack idles about 120* and the highest I've seen it was 210* under load. Got some pics for W'nC before he bans me, he says I don't post enough pics.

Don't you just hate it??!! What a piece of junk. Give me directions, I'll be down in 3 hrs and get that piece of crap out of your home!!! I think you should have an outdoor wood boiler that is 34 % efficient and 4 'picker loads' to get through the winter. How much coal is in your way" I'll bring a Vactor truck if it's loose or plenty of help if bagged!
Don't hesitate, lets get this done before you get too comfortable in a warm house...using very little fuel...it's downright Un-American!! PM with the GPS cordinates, the trucks are warming up...don't reconsider, this sounds waaaaaayyyyyy too good to be healthy for you and your family. Open the doors and windows, shut off the boiler...it will cool down in 24 hrs anyway......stay in a motel tonight, it'll be gone by midnight and you can return home in the AM to a cold, dank house!!

Looks great, nice neat installation. What will you do with all the free time now that you don't have to feed the Steel King? If you really don't like that AA I can get there faster then Whistle.......Got some pics for W'nC before he bans me, he says I don't post enough pics.

Thanks. Actually, I think I'm going to have less time. I keep going down there to look at it and shaking my head.Wood'nCoal wrote:Looks great, nice neat installation. OK, the Anthrastat is set at 130* and it hasn't ashed since it got up to temp after I started it. It is over 30 hours now and the solenoid is still holding the handle. When does it start ashing, on Arbor Day?

You'll need to use that chair in the photo, I guess. Just relax and stare at it!

That is for standing on. The one I sit on has wheels, I need to look at it from different angles.Wood'nCoal wrote:You'll need to use that chair in the photo, I guess. Just relax and stare at it!

You ever have a burp that won't come up, so you swallow a little air to help? That's what the stove is doing. When it finally get's ready to ash you'll be in mountain mode in short order.
