Brush Size

What size brush do I need to clean out the tubes in my highboy, dia, and how long.

So, nobody past the test on EFM high boys, and you guys call yourselfs coal burners? :?

A highboy is a chest of drawers, and normally is cleaned with a soft cloth. Or, do you mean haut bois, e.g. high wood, otherwise known as an oboe? That is cleaned immediately after use by swabbing out the interior to get out all the disgusting spit that got past the reed. Coal is not recommended for either.

Hi Sootman.

I have a high boy as well. 53' I need a brush also but don't know the size. I suspect that Coalburner would know so you might try PM'ing him.

1 3/4 " tubes so same size brush with a 48" handel will do Highboys Where made from 1948 to 1954 they hold 74 Gals of water. Water coil was either a 5 gpm or a 7 gpm feed rate 1 threw 8 teeth 2.5 lbs per hr to 20 lbs per hr thanks for playing come again :P
