Yes, boiler bolted to the pallet. I guess using straps would be a good idea. I need a trip to Priness Auto or Home Deport. Need 4 whells, winch, and several 2 ×2. Then I will need to build some sort of cran. My wife is very afraid now, says it will collapse. Well we will see.....
Yes, pallet jack can help. But i think i need to build a crane anyway. Chimney consists of 12 sections each 3.3' long. I am planning to lift a chimney from inside of the garage section by section.

McGiever i love your idea about IBC totes. Clever idea to keep and move around large quantities of coal. In fact it would be possible to shovel coal directly from IBC into the hopper. Great!

Have any pictures of the boiler to post up to see this beast?

What are you calling a winch? Something like this?

Or like this?

Stainless Steel chimney?

If so, type 316 SS inside at least?

SS type 304 works, but don't let much time pass after fire is out to have chimney professionally cleaned.
For 2 reasons;
1. Acid will attack immediately and
2. Not done Voids any warranty claim. (which they probably never honored a coal service claim ever anyways)

As soon as I get home I will post some pictures. I just took all 3 pieces out from a crate. And it looks impressive. Boiler consist of 3 pieces before bolting everything together i need to drop it at a right place. Otherwise its gonna weight around 1 tonn.

Winch on the second pic, something that i have in mind.
Yes, it is Stainless Steel chimney. It has 'T'-adaptor for the boiler, and door below for cleaning it inside. I guess i will need some brush later, for cleaning. Haven't thought about it yet.
Need to do everything step by step.
First chimney, then move and assemble boiler, then piping and so on...

McGiever, would you suggest to coat chimney inside before assembling all pieces together? And what stuff I need to apply?

Probably going to find this hard to believe, but small branches of fresh cut green tree limbs with bark still on burned first for several days before and again for several days just after any coal is used.
Turns out "wood creosote" (tar coating} produced by a smoldered cold fire produces a condensing layer that is the best coating known to slow the attack of damp fly ash produced acid attacking any metal stove pipes.

May take some dry wood burning first with the "green wood" tossed on later to get it burning well enough to make the heavy cold smoke.
Having a stoker makes all this near impossible, where as, with the hand feds it's much easier to do.

Fight Fire with Fire. That's all I got. ;)

 Maybe someone else will chime in with some other way to get a protective coating applied that will work.

What chemicals etc does a professional chimney cleaner use to clean a stainless metal chimney? When i burned wood only id just run a sweep brush through it and call it day,

No chemicals to my knowledge--they just brush it--at least up this way. I also do my own with just brushing & it does a good job.

Hello Polarlight,

Before you get any further I want you to watch video on youtube that shows an engine hoist with a load leveler.
This will help you understand why you should rent one of these engine hoists to save you a ton of work and
not get hurt in the process.

If you rent on of these engine hoists you will be in fine shape "Fat City" we say down here south of the St. Laurence River.

www.youtube.com/watch?v+9lcbSE3qKjM

I typed it correctly and it just brought me to the youtube home page. you can just type in engine hoist in the search box and it will bring you to the beginning of the engine hoist subject videos and you wiull see how easy they are to use and it will save you a lot of work.

You could use schedule 40 pipe blanks cut at 5 foot lengths but it will still require you to lift the boiler up to remove them as you set it on the concrete half blocks.

I'm thinking that a engine hoist picking at 7' (84") to top of boiler, plus @1250 pounds, that the geometry is not going to work out. :annoyed:

Yes, I also think its too heavy and too tall for the engine hoist.

Be safe, rent a forklift to do the heavy work... or a good front end loader.
