Yukon Eagle II Wiring

Hi all
I started building a garage this fall and am going to heat it with WOOD in a hot air furnace I picked up locally. I have zero experience with hot air heat. This particular furnace is an oil/wood combo (can do coal as well).

I started the wiring today, according to the wiring diagram the Honeywell 6000 thermostat has a jumper from R to Rc and the R to Rc in the Honeywell 5000 does not (at least that is what I think I'm seeing in the diagram).

I am wiring this up second hand and found just the opposite, the 5000 was jumped and the 6000 was not. I'm not sure what the jumper does and why it would be done opposite from what is in the book? Any insight would be most helpful

The garage itself is 36x50 with 12ft walls, I cut all the logs off the farm and milled the lumber this fall. Chimney is in but power isn't fully run and still waiting on the garage doors to get delivered.

Can't help with the honeywells, but damn nice garage sir! I dream of one like it down here. I am sure someone will be right along with your answer.

I have a Yukon Eagle I. Do you have the owners manual for the II? If not, I can send you copies of what you might need. My thermostats are Honeywell t8000c(oil) and t8400(wood damper).....1 wire harness(red, yellow, blue, green). Send me a PM with a phone # Lill can send a few pics of what we have. The thermo on the left is programmable(oil)...the little guy is for the wood.

Thank you KL! I'm very happy with how it's coming along. Once I finish with the insulation I will get back to milling and finish all the walls and ceiling with spruce boards

D I will PM you now. How do you like your furnace? The one I picked up is just 9 years old and doesn't seem to have been run hard at all. I do have the owners manual which had the wiring diagram in it.

We have a 2005 model......love it. When burning wood, I set the wood thermo to 75*, and the oil thermo stays at 60*. When the Herald is burning 'black rocks', I turn the wood thermo off. The Herald can keep the house at 70* until OAT gets down to 15*. I burned coal in the Yukon for 1 year, then bought a Chubby. (Too much furnace for this house) This last Winter with the 10 day polar vortex, I put the coal grates back in for a week...it done good!(Maintained 70*) I was mixing nut/ stove, 50/50.

R=24volt HOT for furnace
Rc=24volt Hot if separate 24volt transformer is used when a added cooling system brings its own transformer.
Jumper if one transformer
No jumper if two transformer.

Thank you both, I'm going to jump both and we'll see what happens. Hopefully can get the new meter installed soon and get this beast fired up!

Just a quick update. Jumped both t-stats and got power temporarily run while I wait on the power company to put in a new meter. Everything works as advertised, seems it will heat this building no without breaking a sweat. Just need to get the darn ceiling insulated now:)
