We are considering some kitchen modifications whereby to gain cabinet space and allow for a Breakfast Bar, and the existing HWB is getting in the way of things. I was considering a kickspace heater option, and on SupplyHouse.com they have both Slant/Fin and Beacon Morris units. Any idea as to which is the better choice? Are MonoFlo tees a good idea for these units? Can a room T-Stat be installed to activate the fan motor?

Edit: I also found the 'Quite One' brand at Home Depot. Their KS-2006 model has the best BTUH fit to our kitchen.

Good idea, but my basement has a finished ceiling and I don't want to go through the effort and expense of ripping the ceiling out and replacing it.

How is the fan triggered to run?
By hot water when the zone valve opens?

How do you plan to install the kick heater without access from below?

I'll admittedly need to open up a bare minimum amount of my finished ceiling in the vicinity of my existing HWB that will be replaced by the kickspace heater.

What type of ceiling are you dealing with?

My $0.02 is to avoid the kick heater if you can. They work, but are noisy. See if you can find information on the noise level, and be mindful of the water temperature needed to activate the fan. Some of them will not turn on the fan below 160 degrees.

How about a panel radiator for the breakfast bar?

They have a switch that closes on temperature rise.

I don't know which is better, but back in the mid 90's I installed a bunch of Slant Fin toe kick heaters was what we called them. (or was it kick toe?) Anyway.... we had no call backs so they must have worked well. Yes, we used mono-flo tees with them.

How about a sketch of the proposed kitchen floorplan?

My wife is currently working on it, but it negates having a HWB along an entire wall as it involves placing cabinets and a bar/table on/along that wall, plus potentially moving our refrigerator to that wall. Presently we have 3 usable kitchen walls and one HWB wall.

They go by many acceptable names. Toe Kick, Kick Toe, Kickspace, and lastly, in the UK, they are called Plinth Heaters.
