In my area you would have to be using thousands of gallons per year and own your own tank to get that price.

I use about 200 gallons per year, and was thrilled to get an agreement for $2.15 per gallon last week.

I do own my own tank ( refurbished) with a asme code plate(original manufacturing date ) . above ground. We are at a junction of multiple kinds of pipelines that is my explanation for it , and owning your own tank takes a lot of the smoke and mirror effect away , I purchased 484 gallons that covers the transitional heating times and non summer domestic hot water. using radiant floor system and a condensing boiler

We are in the same low price ballpark right now also.... $0.85 / gal if you own your tank and get min of 300 gal and mention the facebook ad where they advertised the rate. The same place is refilling 20lb bar-b-q tanks for $5 too.

That's $9.28 per million BTU's if I did the math correctly. It would take 81.5 pounds of anthracite to equal 1 million BTU's.

$9.28/81.5 Lbs. = $0.11387/Lb. = $227.74 per ton

That's about the best going price one can expect to find for anthracite in these parts, with most of it costing more. That makes propane a very good buy at $0.85/Gal.

Off the top of my head I believe I'm paying $7.63 per Therm for NG. And I believe 1 Therm = 1 Million BTU's. But there is a $14 per month flat fee delivery charge on top of that.

This weeks sale price is $0.829 / gallon. We are getting the church tanks filled up for the winter at that price.

If you use multiple tanks through the winter ask if you can prebuy the rest at current pricing.

Those prices are only good for the week if you reference the FB posting, they don't take prepay on these deals.

The church has three 1k gal tanks they own and we usually get into March before needing a refill. I think we were able to skip this years March fill up because it was such a mild winter. Also the church being shut down the last few months has really limited usage.

I just saw where natural gas has hit a 25 year low selling price. This should point to lower prices for Propane.

Funny how prices stay high until hardly anybody needs any of it.

Propain wholeseller are making room for large aquistions now off season and if a few consumer benefit, so be it. The consumer gets to benefit some by lower price if by helping to provide some of the additional needed storage.
Rest assured that when normal demand returns the prices again will not be very generous to the consumers.
