Damp weather is good for a small fire.

Whoa, pardon me for asking but, is that a real coal burning stove? That is neat! Is that a glass fire view window in the base? And lol, it's just sitting on the rug? Is this the ventless model?

What kind of sorcery is this?

Well, it is ventless. It is electric and the usual 1500 watts. No fans, so quiet except for the clicking of the thermostat. It's from Britain. There is a lot of cast iron so it weighs around 70 lbs. I found it on Craigslist. One look and I had to have it. It will take off the chill when a real fire isn't needed.

I fired up the woodstove last evening. it has been damp and foggy up here in the adirondacks. Last evening it was also dead colm. I spent almost as much time getting a wood fire burning well as it used to take to get the old hitzer going. My oil furnace did not start up when I turned the thermostat up. Lick many of you northerners, I would not consider going into winter with just one heat source. I have FO, Wood and electric heat. I sure miss the coal. (see my posts from last spring for that sad tail.Well, I wish you all a warm and safe winter. :out:

So is it 240v. You can't get 2kw from a standard 15a wall socket. So I guess it's a US version yes?
