Stoker Coal Boiler: Keystoker KA-6

I'll be going south in February and I need ideas on my stat settings. The coal will be out and I'll be using oil.
I have two floors and two zones. I have a Nest stat on the first floor, and I can control that with my iPhone. My question is should I set the upstairs around 50 and control the first floor temperature? Or should I parallel my second floor zone to work with the first floor Nest stat?
Thanks

That's a tricky question.
Heat rises...what can freeze on 2nd floor?

Leaving passage and hallway doors open allows some air movement.
leaving vanity doors open allows air temps to be equal with reduced room temps.

A lot has to do with house layout.

If you want easy and no worries then run heat on both floors.

On a side note, seen a low temp switch that you plug a lamp into and will light if temp gets low to indicate to neighbor or whomever that there is a problem.

My neighbor keeps his about 50-53 on all zones while he's in FL. I check on his house every week or so. I have a temp. switch/light hooked up set at 47 in the living room, so if the light is on, I know something is wrong, no heat. I also have a wireless thermometer with the sensor in the house, so I can tell what the temperature is from my dining room! it works quite well. :)

I think I'm going to install another Nest stat on the second floor and I'll be able to control my AC in the summertime.
Thanks for the replies.

Run the heat on both floors, that way you get occasional circulation in all the piping.
