So I got the oil gun all loaded up and wired in. Flip the switch to power up, aquastat does diagnostics and then I hear the relay send power to the oil gun and............ nothing. I did do some troubleshooting and everything works except the 7184 relay unit. So things I did was bypass the relay and bugged power supplies as if the relay was not needed and she fired right up no problem. I also resistance checked the fire eye and all appears to be working well with that. The 7184 green light just does a quick flash when power is introduced to it and nothing after that unless I kill all power and wait a minute or 2, like a cap or 2 has failed internally. Reset does squat. I tried the 45 second hold and no light flash or any sign of life in the unit. Anyone run into anything like this before. I don't wanna burn up 100$ for a new unit and not need too.

Is there a jumper between the TT terminals on that control?

Jumper in place, fired up and continually trips after maybe 5 to 10 seconds. It does fire off though each time. The fire eye resistance measures as it should with light to no light. Any suggestions?

Triple aquastat

I just finished putting my L8148A aquastat back together (I hate plumbing) and my oil CH heat is up again. :D It was a solder joint behind the relay that needed repair giving an intermittent fault. Here is a Utube guide, the guy sounds like he has tissue jammed up his nose but you get the idea.

Good luck.

AquaStat is good to go, the controller for the oil gun is my issue.

Fire eyes are pretty cheap, and it sounds like it is a possibility. Resistance test might be fooling you???
