If the fire is good it is right. With the transformer out of the way and a momentary on it would be obvious.joeq wrote:Well franco, it was a "universal" replacement burner motor, and had 2 wires. An orange one, and a white. I'm assuming the white is neutral, so that's how I wired it. It seems to be working fine, so hopefully it's right. I don't know how to check it, while it's installed, and running. The unit is fully concealed.

It needs to make contact. Just keep you fingers away, and just a one second on. I am sure it is right, all the newer burners seem to be set up one way.joeq wrote:If I pulled back the transformer, and put power to the unit, wouldn't it try to spark away? Or do they need to make contact with the springs to make it ignite?

What you picked up is the same motor that comes with a brand new Beckett and Carlen burners. Uses less electric and runs cooler. Rello uses the same style but different motor. Rello's last forever.

Thanx Rob, and you couldn't be more right. As a matter of fact, the whole week is suppose to be a litte on the "chilly" side. Hope you can keep up with it. (by the looks of your equipment, doesn't seem to be an issue.)
Joe, that is the only 3450 burner motor we have used for about 10 years now. Far better than the shaded pole. Out of probably 300 or so I've had maybe 4 go bad.
I can tell that due to the darkness of your transformer porcelains and springs, your transformer is going bad. Better look into that.
