i bought a hydraulic jack kit to replace a leaking unit. instructions with it didn't show my unit exactly but something similar. after searching for the line going to the jack and the help of a mirror I found the small line. I don't want to remove the whole burner to remove and plug the line. is it possible to cut and crimp the line near the jack and maybe some JB Weld on the end to prevent leakage?? the fitting is only a couple of inches off the floor.
thanks

Assuming your unit is like mine-

the leaking occured because the cylinder that opens the air shutter
leaked after many years of opening and closing.

When I replaced the shutter cylinder which controls the air into the forced
draft fan the leaking stopped.

The leaking occures because the shaft of the cylinder has worn.

What ever you do do not cut and crimp the line.

Can you shut the flow off at the burner? is there a shut off valve there?

It takes about ten minutes to change the air shutter cylinder.

Its simpler for you to take the burner off and do it that way as the copper
line has a flare nut that attaches to the cylinder that operates the air shutter.

Like L. said, you don't touch the pump..............just undo the line at the cylinder.
