I recently moved a USSC HotBlast 1557m model stove into my home from my old one (where it sat for a year unused). After installation I lit the first fire and when the blowers kicked on I noticed a blue flash and they stopped working. Now no matter the temperature of the stove they wont turn on. Replaced thermodisc thinking it was blown and no results. Cant notice any burnt wiring around blowers or in junction box. There is power to the stove and fuse box in the house was not tripped. Any suggestions?

Do you have a volt meter? Pull the cover off the "junction box" (it's actually a thermostat) and check for power there. Sounds like a wire became disconnected somewhere.

Do you know specifically where the flash came from??

Well I have the cover off the box but all there is are the wires from the power cord tied into the two wires from the thermodisc (that"s what the manual called it I was under the impression that was the thermostat) and also tied into the wires that run down to the blowers. All are wire nutted and seem to be secure. Unfortunately I was in front of the stove messing with duct work when they kicked on and all I could see was the flash reflect off the wall behind the stove.

OK.. Can you follow the wires down to the blowers? Nothing disconnected? Can you check with a volt meter to see how far power is getting towards the blowers?

okay so checked all wires are tight but when I try to use a test light I use the ground in the junction box and I test my power supply wire from the cord I get sparks  at first I thought maybe the blowers were just shot but now im thinking theres a bigger issue?

also after I plugged it in I rubbed against a sheet metal screw on the top outside of the stove I got a little shock. Does this mean something is shorting out?

Make sure that's your wires are connected right. Remember that the white wire coming from the breaker box is also a ground (if its wired right). The black should be the live wire.

Its possible you got the live and ground (white wire) backwards.
