Well here's my Christmas gift from the wife. Got sick of heating my breezeway with the heat from the coal stove. Put a blanket between kitchen and breezeway and it did make a difference. Unfortunately the undersized (I think) baseboard can't even keep the breezeway above 55-60 deg. My coal stove in the basement can keep a whole house warmer than that. When it was in the minus digits last week the breezeway zone didn't stop running. The breezeway is on its own zone so I don't mind running the oil burner just to keep the breezeway warm, (laundry area) but like I said the baseboard stinks. Very little heat radiation. Return water temp from the baseboard zone is almost the same temp as the supply. The breezeway does have newer windows and spray foam insulation. Can't wait till spring so this crappy baseboard can meet the same fate as so many cast iron radiators. Maybe there's a problem with it, but I don't care. It's coming out. The replacement radiator came out of a 1800's hotel ballroom. I'll be in my t-shirt and underwear while doing laundry! Long live the radiator! Matt.

What is the weight, and measurements of that beast? It looks like you will need some machinery to get it in place. I do not think 'heat' will be a problem with that baby cooking!!!

I Have seen baseboard installed wrong, where the fins were facing sideways instead of up and down and they don't work that way. Pull the cover and take a look before you tear into it. Just a thought.

I'm think'n you got a screw loose. That radiator will be it's own ZIP code.
You may have to reinforce the floor and give the boiler last rites.
I am jealous though !

I was just thinking about what a beautiful piece of work it is! I have never seen any so ornate and nice. The ones in your house are very nice also.

Add a stoker, and you have a damned good start!!!! I'd guess it weighs in around 320. Find a few more.....but save the back....get the football team, from UNH to stop over....

Nice Monte! I miss mine. Even though it was a total POS, I still drove it daily for over 2 years all over New England and NY and it never left me stranded .... except that one time in the auto parts store parking lot when the starter took a dump. Best place to break down, but, of course, they were closed ...
That radiator should do the trick - that's a good sized one.
