I never saw this before, so as I was driving today and saw it, I had to whip out the phone and take a pic.

I was actually laughing when I saw it, including the couple oil trucks I had to go around

edit: also I saw a 4 inch or so thick corrugated hose that went up to the house, I suppose a vacuum type delivery system.

Pic isnt the best,

You need a mighty big DRY place to store all those pellets! I kinda like my coal a tad moist when I'm dumping it in the hopper :D

They have been delivering bulk pellets in Europe for some time. Like carbon12 said, you need a very dry place to store them or I can see a bin full of pulp. That pretty much means you can't buy them off season at a cheaper price cause that's when its very humid. I'll stick with my 300 million year old wood too.

I have a wood pellet insert I use in late spring/early fall.
A wet bag of pellets makes a mess

humidity can turn your $500 pile of pellets into a lump of useless pulp (better include the costs of running that dehumidifier year round next to your bin toothy) as well as the electricity to burn this stuff. I wonder if they deliver in a driving rain  ?

any coal I get, no matter how I get it, store it use it will be good today and good 100 years from today

Yeah really lol! When I bought the house 20 years ago it came with a nice Breckwell pellet insert. I had the choice between that and electric base board  I killed the breakers on the base board and used the pellet stove exclusively for the first 5 years. Burned 4 tons a year. It barely kept the house above 65 degrees.

When my daughter was born in January 11 years ago, I knew I needed better heat. I installed propane at that time, was 1.19 per gallon.

Since then, I've converted a two and half car garage into a living room and propane rose to 2.99 per gallon. The $600 per month propane bills started rolling in.

That's when I discovered my new addiction :D I still use the pellet stove occasionally about 8 bags per year hahaha.

Here's my first post ever

The Coal Attraction

If a stoker is a Girlie Man heater,.....what's a wood pellet heater?!!? I'm sure we'll all look the other way since it came with the house. Have you picked out the replacement coal equivalent yet for when the cellulose combuster finally gives up the ghost???
