So I stop over the dairy the other day, and see this. This is his solution for heating the back room at their store on the dairy farm.

WOW this is too close to home, brother in law has an outdoor wood boiler did the exact same thing in his basement with an old tractor radiator.

he got all high tech with that box fan when he coulda just used the 'fan only' setting of that wall ac unit.

the next upgrade will be to duct tape a furnace filter on that box fan.... :)

My uncle used to heat an apartment with a natural gas hot water tank hooked up to base boards lol.

If he is heating with electricity it would be better and cheaper to just mount an infra red heater on the wall.

did I misunderstand the pic?? I didnt think he was tapped into the electric WH, which I didn't think was connected. I thought he tapped into his boiler manifold to his truck radiator....

Might just be easier to rip off jacket and all the insulation from the WH and let it act as a radiator

Then use the box fan to move around more air flow if necessary....but that would consume electric (the convection of a rad should be enough)
