I was searching about Riteway stoves and came across an article from the 1970's. Good reading and had pictures of some vintage wood stoves and names of many long-gone manufacturers.

Old my ass--that was my time. ;) Them double decker 55 gal. drums w/ cast door & flue were outstanding--Nice post EWF

I made the drum heaters and i'm 20 yrs younger then you

Yeah, but Dennis, mine was 20 yrs older. ;) They had the cast parts at a Hardware in Rutland--they were heating beasts. I'd fill that sucker full & she'd go for 2 or 3 days.

My freinds dad build one from 275 gal oil drum to heat his crane shop. They burnt railroad ties in them and couldn't stand 10 feet in front.
The kits were really cheap to build them.
