Remember if the oil pump has a single line, it will require bleeding the air out before the oil will pump.

Yep, we bled the line. It was very stubborn though. We even resorted to applying positive pressure to the tank with a shop vac to help push oil to the pump, which seemed to help. Thankfully my neighbor knew more about it than me.

When you put it in the trash, you're polluting. When you use something for the second time, it's recycling. Drop it off at my place, I'd burn that all winter long.davidmcbeth3 wrote: ↑Sat. Mar. 25, 2023 8:57 pmTake 4 gal of used motor oil
Add 4 gal of kerosene
Take that 8 gallon solution and toss it in the trash
Go out and buy 5 gal of diesel and use that. Make a standard order for standard delivery.

Burning coal puts carbon back in the atm., this is used by plants to make more plant stuff that then turns back into coal. So that's recycling.waytomany?s wrote: ↑Sun. Solar is not recycling. The sun uses hydrogen to make helium. Once the hydrogen is used up, that's it. So solar is less ecologically sound than coal which is recyclable.

Not sure what that has to do with using used motor oil in an oil furnace.davidmcbeth3 wrote: ↑Sun. Mar. 26, 2023 11:15 amBurning coal puts carbon back in the atm., this is used by plants to make more plant stuff that then turns back into coal. So that's recycling.

Solar is going to be emitted long after a bag of coal will burn up. I'm not a fan of solar , but the sun Is still going to be there for a while.
