hey guys! what's up?!
Ok i did struggle to take out the stove shield from the Ciney coal stove from 1937. screws were so gripped, and for some of them i had to drill them..
i did clean almost everywhere... so now question is... can i put the New sealer on the top of the old one, Or.. do i have to remove all the old Seals to put the New one? the old one look hard and tired..
but I'm not sûre of being able to retire all the sides of the stove to do it correctly...
thanks for your help.

Remove old seals and install new. Better safe then sorry, CO is not your friend.

New. You have it apart, so inspect everything and seal it back up like new.
i almost have it apart, but i can't go further, screws are completly blocked between cast iron and refractory cement...
the only thing i can do is scratching the old seal with something and putain back the New one....
also is It of any use to put on top of seal this kind of braided cord wé use on wood stove doors?
