Baseburners & Antiques: Wehrle Acme Sunburst 112, Hot Blast wood/coal burner

Post by jubileejerry » Sun. Jun. 19, 2022 10:48 pm

I am looking at a stove with a "K" inside a circle on top of the finial. This is the only picture I have of the stove. The footwarming area has "Favorite" across the front. Can anyone tell me the manufacturer of the stove?
Thanks, Jerry

It's got that Favorite look. Plus foot warming area says Favorite. That finial belongs on a Kalamazoo baseburner.

The correct finial for a Favorite bb will knock a hole in your check book, plus if it needs nickel or brass plated. Might be able to horse trade for correct finial with someone.

Nickel plating went up in price with everything else.

I didn't bid on this stove because of the finial, and wondered what had happened to it. Now I have found it again for sale in Sioux City, Ia, about 25 miles away, for $15,000. I'm thinking about asking him to see it, since he says he has several old stoves, and see what they are.

The New owner had this on another group. Not worth 15k restored.

A couple Favorite's out your way sold just recently. An auction one sold for $750, real nice shape!! Another with wrong swingtop and finial, wrong footrests, no magazine, went for 5k. Had good nickel though.

Another looks kind of ruff, the sale is over in a few days, was at $4.00 still.

Correct finial on ebay for $200 + shipping. Add another $200 for new nickel plating.

Check your email for incoming pm.
PM just sent.

Here mine, got it in Ohio, cheap.
Not on base, can't lift 615 pounds by myself. A 617, 17 inch pot.

Going to put it on a Radio Flyer wagon. Pull it around driveway with tractor to melt snow and the clouds...
:what:

I lifted it once, in the middle of the night, in the middle if nowhere, by my self. I could feel it in my guts and back for months.

Waytomany, I got waytomany that are to big for my home heating use.

Sounds like you need to start a museum. Closed in the summer of course.

I looked at the one in Montana on the auction. It would be nice, but it's 1,072 miles away! The ad says shipping not available.

Colonial Esquire in Kansas city posted yesterday. Fbm.

Call Brain the plating guy, he is selling off his extra stoves. Maybe he has something he will let go.
