Identification and restore tips help!!
Found this old coal burner need help to identify it and tips on what is safe to USE cleaning it up, I think its cast iron and ceramic but unsure. All I have found is a door that says tiger 71 on the front and stamped I believe says F. 64 &a. A

I would definitely say it’s European. There are similar type stoves manufactured from France , Germany , and Eastern Europe. My suggestion would be if the enamel is too far gone , to have all the removable parts and exterior of the stove sandblasted. If it has fireclay or bricks internally you can either repair with fireclay , or chisel off and replace . Check all joints , reseal with fireclay . New ashpan is easy to make or have a fabrication shop knock one up for you using the original one as a template. Finally polish the exterior of the stove with graphite stove polish . It will give it a metallic lustre and won’t peel off like stove paint . Any parts that are already nickel plated can be redone depending on your budget . Good luck .
