I saw this stove at the Lodge we were staying at in Rockwood Maine. They only use wood in it. The one guy on staff there says there were never any stoves built up there by Mount Kineo. He thinks Glenwood may have built these units. Does anybody know? I almost snuck into the lodge the one night and loaded it in my truck lol.

She could definitely use some polish. They burn it hot with wood. I told the owner he ought to burn coal in it like it was meant for. He seemed interested in coal. They go through/process several truck loads of logs per year. Each of the cabins has a wood stove in it plus the lodge burns in this Kineo plus a Fisher “Papa Bear” plus an open fireplace to supplement the oil boilers. Our cabin had a Fisher Grandpa Bear in it. I’d hate to have to feed that thing with wood from my pile. I would load it with 10-14 logs at a shot. It would burn for 10-12 hours on a load like that but still….

I believe the Kineo line was made by Noyes & Nutter in Bangor, ME.

Yes, they were built in Bangor, Maine.

And, no connection to Glenwood.

Here's an online copy of N&N 's catalog.

If you do a search for "Kineo" they have been discussed quite a bit on here.
Here's just one thread,
Kineo Stoves in General, Oak # 18 in Particular ?

I don't think that model was meant for coal. A web search for "Kineo" brought up an ad for a Kineo Grand at Good Times Stoves. It says just wood. And the index of their catalog I link to above, calls them, "Wood Parlor".

Glenwood had a similar line called wood parlors. Many turn up on Craige's List and eBay.

I agree with Paul and am attaching a photo of my Kineo baseburner. It is just taking up space in my garage with stuff in front of it so sorry for the bad photo. I bought this stove from Bryants Stoves before they closed and Bea was still with us.
