She is a beauty , you say the firepot is bigger than 16” , how big is it ? I’ve wondered what manufacturer made a mica baseburner with say a 18” or even a 20” firepot or if they were even made that big ? Know glen wood made there oak 40 , and 50 with large fire pots , but they were base heaters , not mica baseburner . Love to know if anyone knew any manufacturer that made mica baseburners In really large firepot sizes .

Yes, the Glenwood 40 (18 inch) and 50 (20 inch) were Oaks with large firepots, but they were Oak type stoves not base heaters. The biggest base heater that I am aware of Glenwood making is the #8 with an 18 inch fire pot.Wal wrote: ↑Sun. I seem to remember we've had a few mica burners on here with large firepots.
As for oaks, it's not uncommon to find them in 18 and larger firepots. My in-laws still have the large firepot Oak (coal fired) that was in the living room when Melissa was growing up. And one of my Brother-in-law's has a Round Oak with a 24 inch firepot (wood fired), plus a top extension on the barrel making it about 7 feet tall. A heat monster that came out of a local church. Probably helped remind the congregation of the fires of damnation.
Having been near it when it's running, a near as large firepot mica burner would be an incredible heat monster.

The "Holy Grail" to some people is the Wherle 100 series. In the 18 inch pot. That will require some pocket change. Looking at about $15,000+ for a restored one. If you can find someone willing to sell.

So it seems that most mica baseburners are in the 14/16” firepot range , unless you have deep pockets and can buy the wherle !

15k is kind-of cheap, compared to some fancy top of the line Square BB's in the 30k prices.
A few bigger ones around, but most are 10 - 16 inches. Don't underestimate the horsepower of a wimpy 10 inch pot.
Arch heater is a 166. Might squeeze 16.5 inches out the fire pot. Some makers rounded down or up on their pot measurements.
A Round Oak 24 is as hard to find as the 10.

This ones firepot is just under 17 in wide (16 7/8in)at top and 7.5in deep... I RARELY open the drafts more than 1/8 of a turn... I can fill magazine with a 5 gallon pail of nut and go 3 to 5 days without adding more depending on temp outside ... I did an experiment one fall mpd closed tight drafts closed tight and got 6 days out of a magazine.....
