Weather warmed up so running the stove down till it dips to around 4degrees , running it down at high temp 650f stove really comes into its own at these temps , think that considering that they were made to heat large areas ( hotel lobbies, or large hallways etc) I think that the radiant heat is noticeable more from 550f to 650f , and I don’t think it has a detrimental effect on the firepot as you can see in the photos it is not even glowing at these temps . So I think that these stoves were capable of running at high continued temps because the firepot is suspended , and the whole idea of a stove is to heat a large area .In Victorian times there would be no thought to how much it would cost to run a stove , if you could afford to buy one , unlike today when we look to find a economical way to heat our homes .

New member to our household, This is diesel, we adopted him last week as a family were no longer able to keep him . He is a staffy , nearly nine years old . Beautiful temperament, me and fi couldn’t have asked for a better dog . Only milo the cat has to sneak in when he isn’t warming himself by the stove

Thanks benny . Retired at Christmas so after working on my daughters house , convinced fi that it would be a good idea to give a dog a home as it will keep me company and get me out and about !

Nice hound and nice heater.
Was going to name my dog diesel also. Cause of the "fumes" coming out of her "tail pipe". Didn't get approval. Went with
country air instead.
