Hi everyone!
I’m in the process of buying an old farmhouse that was built in the late 1800s in northern Michigan and there’s an old wood cook stove in it I plan to keep it as I feel like it just belongs with the house, the previous owners (who have passed) were still using the stove.
I’m wondering if anyone could help me with an approximate age of the stove? I’m also wondering if the stove is missing a back plate (shown in the picture with the manufacture info) because the other side has the same door on the front of the stove and there’s a metal plate on the back.
I’m not sure if there’s anyone in the area that restores these? It’s missing some doorknobs (amongst other things that I’m unaware of I’m sure) but I’d LOVE to make sure this piece is safe and fully functional for future use

There are many old Wards catalogs online for viewing and if you page thru the 1930's ones you might find it, give or take a few years. The model name might be Ascot. I have a couple wards catalogs from the 40s but I'd have to dig for them. Im not much help other than that.
