I think it burns coal. pieces say its a model 171 x25 sunny side. anyone have any idea on age and value etc... thank you

Those holes are interesting along each side of the fire pot. Should get some nice blue flames coming from those.

That is a coal stove, shaker grates and vent in ash door are not for wood.

Sure would be a shame for someone to ever use that stove for burning wood!

As for a value I’m not your guy, sorry.

Like many antique stoves it is for coal and wood.

Front loading door is for coal. The side door is for loading long pieces of wood. And the rotary damper in that side door provides secondary over-fire air for wood.

The row of holes along the top edge of the firebox liners is likely secondary air feed to burn off volatile gases - like a Glenwood base heater's gas ring. And that type secondary air feed may even allow use of Bit coal (soft coal).

Not sure of price as I've never seen one like it for sale.

hi, the grates in that stove should rotate to expose a pair of coal grates. I think they have 3different burn faces the wood side is up in your pics.they made very good stoves, the used the trade name acme, Wylie Coyote bought a lot of there anvils....lol wilson
