This picture of an empty hearth is either the most dismal or hopeful thing you’ll ever see in a coalies home

I'm hopeful for you.
Gotta come East to fill that corner.
There might be extra to look at.
You need a life size poster to hang there temporarily.

Since I couldn't view my prospective purchase in person I used the site blockposters.com to convert a photo to a pdf with 12 8.5x11 printed pages to judge the fit on my hearth. There is some control on size.

Part of it was preparation for cleaning the carpet in the whole house, boy am I glad that’s done. I can see solid floor throughout coming in the near future.
Then I found a pristine Wherle 100 I’m going to bore holes thru and install some gas logs in

THAT would be an awesome idea and I know just who could build it for me
Unfortunately that corner would have to do some growing to allow it and both of the intersecting walls are bearing

Well, if room for only one, I'd say make it the biggest one. You can always downsize a firebed for warmer days, but you can't make a small stove bigger for the coldest days.
After all, when it gets really cold, how often do we hear. "Oh no, my stove is too big." ?
