Looks like name plate says American Heater??
The number on name plate looks like it says number-?12. Which makes it a smallish fire pot in 12 inch size.
It has clinker poker slots in the clinker doors. No need to open doors to poke fire.
Looks to be in good shape. Hinge pins look replaced sometime.
Year made 1895-1905 ish.?
Price? What your wallet says or the Mrs. Wal.

Ha ha , waiting for him to give me firepot sizes etc, and price but if it’s only a 12” firepot it will be to small anyway . But he has another baseburner looks to be a large one asked about that as well but still no reply . Check out the pic . Think it will be expensive, but I can live in hope .

He is burning wood in it. Looks like magazine is missing or took it out to burn wood. Hope it is not cracked all to hell now.
Doesn't look all that big, but pretty.

Yeah , I thought the same , burning wood in a coal stove . Probably crack the pot thru overfiring and all that mica will get ruined!!! Looks like I will be looking elsewhere!!

Yeah was talking more about the discolouration/browning on the mica if you burn wood . Like you say artie , burning wood in a stove built for anthracite is a definite no no . Considering this person makes a living from restoring stoves you would have thought he would know the difference .

Wal,
If you are dealing with Harrie, I was pleasantly surprised when quoted a price on a coal stove. I hope you are able to save crating and shipping costs... assuming chunnel/ferry is cheaper.

Hi Leo , Just have a few concerns about the condition of the stoves, but have asked for more internal photos etc, but as of now no reply . Price and condition will be the deciding factor , as you point out no import duty which will be a massive bonus .

Just to say after 3 years of wanting and trying to buy a mica baseburner it has finally become a reality . I made a mistake when I said it was a Red Cross. It is actually made in Europe . The stove has a 16” firepot, a coal magazine and is in excellent condition. It dates to around 1890. The stove restorer is going to personally deliver it from Amsterdam to my home in the uk to make sure it reaches me in perfect condition, which is fantastic. I am grateful to everyone on this forum who has been a wealth of knowledge and information about mica baseburners . And now my dream of owning one is a reality. .
