I found this stove (Schwach Stark) in the attic an of a old farm of my parents.
I can’t found anything about this stove on the internet.
Do somebody know this stove? How old is it and how to use (wood or coal)?
Schwach Stark stove
If the base of the firebox is a grate, it is likely a coal burning appliance.
If the base of the firebox is mostly a plate, it is likely a wood burning appliance.
Or take a photo of the firebox and post it here and you will get experienced users' opinions.
I would not expect anyone to find a stove called 'Schwach Stark'.
I thought I had seen those words before so I plugged them into Google translate.
It indexed to German, where SCHWACH ~ weak, STARK ~ strong.
My guess is the protruding square plate is pictured on SCHWACH and is able to slide to the right to set it in STARK mode.
I think it is the combustion air control, where the brass colored level on the protrusion is fixed and acts as a pointer to either word / mode it is operating in.
Likely the stove was manufactured by some company in a central European nation, then imported. Ask one of the site operators ( memberlist.php?mode=group&g=840 ) to move this thread under the "Imported Hand Fired Coal Stoves Using Anthracite" forum, or repost in that forum. Likely that your request will be read by someone more familiar with imported stoves there. Nevermind I will ask one of the them to move it.
I will take a wild guess though, Belgian from late 1910s and coal burning ???

Post by Doc4599 - Wittigsthal Stove From Germany
looks like forum user 'kweis' (Last active: Mon Jan 27, 2020 8:07 pm) implies he has one a few posts further down
That's not a Wittigsthal stove I don't think. At least not from the time period I believe mine was made in which I belive was in the 1930's. However I think yours is earlier from the 10's or 20's. It's possible though it was made at the Wittigsthal foundry? These small stoves from Germany were not made to be imported to USA as they would have been required to affix a made on Germany tag on the stove which they do not have. As such I believe these were either brought over by immigration or by "spoils of war" from WW II. Mine was found in an attic of a home as well.
