PS, I’m going to be putting effort into thinning things down to just ONE stove during the off season

The 4 warm morning stoves are and will continue to be so cheap it can’t be mentioned in open forum

FRANK is another matter and will be closer to the cost of a new replacement

Hey K, since I have your attention, could you post a pic of a warm morning/locke shaker handle? I found a stove similar to a Locke 120. It seems rusty outside, but inside looks darn near perfect. Very little info stamped on it. No handle and have no clue how it works. I mean I understand the dump part and the side to side shake mechanism, but I've never seen the shaker handle and how it goes in/on.

I had a Surdiac stove given to me.

It was so downright ugly that even the engineer that designed it must have detested its looks...but did that stove ever work well. It was a hopper unit, so coal only (no wood), but it would burn for 14 hours, and required no electricity to operate.

It heated really well, but again, was downright UGLY.

I have seen a few for sale over the years, but at 40 years old now, there are few and far between. But if shag carpets, paneling, and boxy vans with round windows ever come back into style, they would make excellent home decore again! :-)

NS,
Buddy had one of those Surdiac stoves back 30 years ago. I thought it looked more like a small ugly copy of an oriental temple, but it sure put out heat. We'd be sweating in tee shirts while watching TV in mid Winter.

Hahaha! I've thought the same thing since I first saw a pic of it.
