Gents,I Gotta Tell Ya's! It's so damned nice to drop into a thread and witness it take a Swan Dive Straight To Hell over the course of three pages! Reminds me of Our Old School Days! This Poor Guy got a Belly-Full of help, made some competency decisions, some trials, tribulations and outcomes, too! Hell, the Poor Devil even got back to All Of You with his end result! Stand-Up Burner! He also got to see Our Humor, and watch this Whole Deal Circle The Rim,then Collapse and go Wholesale Down The Drain! Thanx for helping him,and Thanx for making me Laugh My Guts Out !!!!
I have seen a number of these out on Craigslist and have assumed that they were possibly a variation of an apartment type cookstove. On the contrary, from this catalog entry it reads like they were intended to heat the kitchen when all the other appliances were gas. This one's description suggests it had a hot water pipe/jacket.
I had once seen an ornate one on Craigslist, that I seem to recall was a Detroit Stove Works model.
It seems like the space a gas cookstove plus one of these kitchen heaters would take up nearly as much space as a combination range, and have an oven. Would a gas cookstove plus a kitchen heater been less expensive than a combination range?
Is the cabinet/porcelain type stove that the original poster ( lockhoouse 13 ) has meant to serve the same function as this catalog entry of a cast iron kitchen heater?
