Sunny B do the slippers transfer much heat to the floor?
Not that I can tell if they would. Glass is not a better conductor of heat than cast iron.

In the past, with my IR gun, measuring slate temps under the range verses just outboard of the legs, the underside of the range radiates more heat than the base legs conduct down to the floor. The glass just moves the range 3/4 inch higher from the floor. And with the 1/4 thick rubber pads I put under the coasters, the heat transfer is reduced more.
