One of the posted photos on Craigslist shows a front swing door, I assume for loading; same photo looks like there is a central column to deliver air from a damper above (just beneath the crown). I have not seen anything like that in all of the photos of other stoves I have looked through so far. No picture of the grate, so not sure if it is coal or wood burner. Anyone seen anything like this?

Bit, or soft coal stove. The center tube delivers heated air to just above the firebed to help burn off the high volatiles that Bit coal produces. Otherwise you can get a lot of soot buildup in the stove pipe and chimney.

The hot blast stoves are said to work quite well, by those that use them. And Bit coal is usually much cheaper per ton than anthracite.
