So I inherited this coal stove, my dad had done some work in trade for it, but we never knew much about it. I am curious if anyone has any idea about it. Any help would be amazing!

I had seen a website https://www.antik-ofen-galerie.de/ with other tall stove designs.
Maybe you could send a photo to them see if they recognize it.

I've seen these in SW Germany and the Alsace region of France. Refurbished they are VERY pricey. From the number of doors, this could be coal fired or does it have an oven ? Some are wood fired using more the principle of a rocket stove: a relatively short lived but very hot fire with the ceramic slowly releasing the heat. Here's a link to a restorer I visited a few years ago.

Search for Kachelofen on ebay.com or better yet go to ebay.de and search for Kachelofen under the category "Antiquitaten und Kunst". Sort by Hochter Preis.

holy cats, don't open that link and click on warehouse unless there is someone there who can revive you.

I barely made it out.

never seen so many fantastic stoves of this type in one resource before.

Dang, they are located only 3 hours drive from my aunt's house. Sigh, I suppose shipping would be $$$$. :|

Thank you for the leads, I will check that out tonight and further my research. Unfortunately none of the wording on it has led me to anything, so hopefully I'll find something!

I'm not sure on the firebox configuration, I was never around if he ever actually fired it off.

The bad is that its 600 miles away and trying to determine how to transport it, without further damage, as some of the tiles are loose already at the top.

Here is a link to a video of Damien Spatara’s shop showing briefly how he refurbishes tile stoves. Unfortunately the video is in French. In brief: the stove is completely disassembled, metal parts replaced/refurbished, and refractory bricks replaced. The tile shell is assembled with metal clips and clay to seal the seams. A part of his shop is dedicated to replacing cracked or broken tiles. Your stove looks like it depends more on cast iron for the firebox and oven.

Hope this helps with your treasure.

Very interesting to see so nice *oeuvres d'art*, and finally, not a so bad thing that the vidéo was in Français :) :D

After watching the video, I would have to agree mine is more structured around the cast iron more than the tiles themselves as these units appear to be.

Definitely interesting to watch for sure.

Could this be a Nott's stove from the early 19th century?

Hard to tell if it could be a Nott's stove, trying to find some pictures of them.

I have emailed Damien Spatara from the one link above, short response so far that it was beautiful and asking what region I am in, guess we will see if he has anything further.
