Anyone know what type of stove this is?

Just bought a new house with this stove it. I have never seen a wood burning stove like it and someone said it maybe for coal. Any ideas?

Would you want to burn coal or wood...if coal, do you have easy access to bituminous or anthracite?
Cannot notice these features from the pictures...
Where would you throttle the air entering to control the fire?
Do you have a spot to engage a shaker handle somewhere from the outside?

For it to burn coal, it has to have it's primary damper air feeding in under the grates. I don't see anyway that can happen if the door is closed. Is there any type of air control for under-fire air feed ????
