Picked up this Buckwalter Vestal 20
yesterday in the VW Jetta's back seat.

Edit: Vestal is a Roman goddess,
had to Google it.

Hello northern friend.

Clean it up, make a couple small repairs, then burn it in the shoulder months. Maybe trade it and a pile of cash for a high dollar stove the end of the month.

Fire pot is only 10 inches it is a lot smaller than the other one.

My other mica globe has a 12 inch pot. The New Royal.

The grates shake left and right.

There is a drawcenter rod fished into side of stove. Rod is 1/2 inch square with an eyelet on outside end of it.
Inside end is bent like a Sheppard's hook.

You have to fish rod thru side of stove,
thru a little drawcenter slider. Then rod goes thru a turkey foot grate support, thru grate and then thru the dump center. The dump center works like an upside down tea kettle Whistler.

Some pics.

Grate assembly must go in before fire pot fingers and fire pot.

so the one rod works both the drop center and moves the outer grate left and right. kind of fiddly but saves space and pieces in tight quarters.

The best I can do right now. A night light will have to do for a little while.

I will be burning till about June 1. Still have plenty of time to clean it up.
