Baseburners & Antiques: Round Oak 18-0-3 parlor Stove

Post by Denny Graham » Thu. Dec. 27, 2018 7:24 pm

I'm restoring a 18" Round Oak parlor stove and it's complete except for the
inner "wood grate" also the Round Oak illustration in the "Repair Catalogue of Round Oak Specialties"
shows an "Inside Fire Bowl", which is also missing.
If anyone could confirm that these two parts belong with this stove I would surely appreciate it.
And if you have or have access to one of these stoves, I would be forever indebted to you if you
could post or email a picture of these items and how they fit inside the "Outside Fire Pot".
Thank you,
Denny Graham
Sandwich, IL

The wood grate is available from Tomahawk Foundry in Rice Lake, Wis. Use it with a refractory liner if you burn wood only
The inner fire pot has a frame with three fingers that hold the coal grate. They are designed for Bituminous coal and do not do well with anthracite. You will probably have to marry something inthere to use hard coal.

Do you still have the basket and coal grate? Do you know if it will fit a Round Oak stove?
