Don’t mind my 110 year old mica, but you can see pretty well the gas rings doing their job in the g8

Are you burning anthracite coal ... You need more volatiles to burn...

Try some good Bituminous coal and get a real show...

Yes this is anthracite, I’ve never seen bit coal to try

Weather dropped to below freezing 🥶 so stove been on constantly for two days . Thermometer reading is from the dining area . Stove takes 50lb to fill firepot . Burns for 24hrs before reloading .

My Chappee’s cookin’ along nicely tonight. The coal is that old dry stuff pulled from the Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls, NY. It’s all different sizes, even some bit in it but burns good. Water temp is 120, outside temp is 23, house temp is 73.

Four inches of new snow out there now, maybe a foot more by tomorrow.
