Here’s a pic for you....
My 50-something Chappee’s been hot for less than 10 hours now. Here’s what ‘she’ looks like right now.
Wife Susan walked in the door at 5:00pm and right away noticed the whole house was warm! A warm 75f beats a cold 65f all to hell!
We are shedding ‘winter indoor’ clothing and very much enjoying the short sleeve weather in here. 😁

(Oh?....it’s 30 and snowing outside? Sorry, didn’t notice)
Don
Forgive my ignorance but is that a boiler? Looks like a nice big rig - post up more pics if you can please!

Yes, a hot water boiler...not steam. The photo shows it stripped naked, no shrouding or insulation. I have it but I like the way it looks without.

It was built by Chappee in France about 1960 near as I can tell. It’s a brand new ‘to me’ furnace and I’m getting used to it. Had to sleep with a bedroom window open last night even though temps were low teens and windy. Woke up to a 70f house. And best of all....didn’t use a whiff of propain.

Rather than impose on this thread, hows about I just start a new one? Pics and all. I’ll get to it tonight if interested.
Don

Flirt topped off for the night with the Lehigh nut I purchased yesterday. Never burned Lehigh before. I believe it will be OK

My Lord! Y'all are killing me with those beautiful stoves.

I think y'all (Paulie and jubileejerry..Glenwood and Stewart owners) just made up my mind for me...I'm still going to try and grab a few WM's stoves I've always wanted at some point...and I'd still like to find an Elm wood stove to rebuild...but those super nice looking antiques have just sealed the deal. I can't take it anymore. LOL! Life is too short to live with an ugly box stove.

Yes, I got 9 hours out of it; about 4" of coal in a 8"-9" diameter fire bowl.
