Yes Emory from StoveHospital. Obviously a world class photographer, any more in your camera?

No Simon, I am not amused. :D

. but he always enjoyed the spirit of Xmas. A man of many faces. "High in the Poconos" as he gave his address had perpetual power problems. Hence the 1917 Western candlestick phone and three Aladdin lamps that were all in daily use. Of course, the main timepiece was a 200 year old gfather clock, what else did you expect? The hifi was a Victrola that he was very proud of. The music ... of course all pre WWII and 78s.

Hi all,
Not very often on the forum, hum, hum, since I became a heat pump guy…
But when I just saw that William was gone, it made me stop for a few minutes to remember all the good time spent reading his intelligent comments to make antique stoves a must to know and also to try them. Without him, I wouldn't have enjoyed all the good years burning antiques stoves Base Heater and Baltimore Heater as he was so pleased to name them.
Condolences to his family and friends, from a Canadian friend, Pierre

My name is Rhonda Meals, sister of William Sherrick. I am aware that many people are inquiring about services for William. Unfortunately, at this time neither Emory or myself will be having services. I understand there may be many different emotions running about this decision, however, I am asking that you please be understanding. There were many people that loved him in many different circles therefore, I will be leaving Williams ashes in Pennsylvania, with close friends and those that were his extended family. Thank you all for the love and support each have given through the years.

Hello. I am attempting to post this message to all that were FB friends with my brother William Sherrick, the master of many things including and not limited to coal stoves. As I am sure you all know, William passed away on Tuesday morning, 11/13/18. I am reaching out to all collectors of integrity and with heart that may be interested in purchasing any of the antiques or stoves that presently have been entrusted in my care. Of course my desire would be to find a honorable and respectful collector that appreciates the beauty and functionality of these treasures. If you are interested in contacting me, please PM me and we can have a discussion about what items you may be interested in purchasing. Thank you all for the relationship you shared and being a forum of people which he could share his unique life experiences and knowledge. I know he will be missed by many.

Seems to me this thread was a pretty good type of service for Mr Sherrick in itself...

Was searching around on the forum a bit...found this...William's 4th to last post. I think it sums up nicely how proud William was of all the forum members here and how much interest his Glenwood videos generated. I think it's a very fitting post. Click on the blue arrow to the right of his user name to see where the post originated.

I'll let him say it...

Wow!!!!!!! I am simply amazed at the brilliant talent you men exhibit. I never thought when I was the only person on here posting about how easy and efficient a well designed base burner is that the interest and excitement of owning and using one would get to the point that brand new cottage industries would be created to meet the demand that now exists for these masterpieces of art and science.
You guys make me so proud. I couldn't be among better company than here even though I am spending more time in the hospital than anywhere else. If something happens to me it's better to say what is important to say than to have it never said.

Wow, I am having a hard time even seeing the keyboard after reading all of these postings. I have not been online much and am late in getting the news.

Like many others, William’s videos inspired me to invest into the antique Stove philosophy. Why, because the older technology made perfect sense and William was able to convey that information to us. Thank you William and may you RIP.

Sadly,I spent this past Saturday at Williams home removing and loading up two of his most prized possessions, the Craword 40 and the famed Glenwood 6.

They are both back at the shop, and at the request of the family are available for sale, and offered first to our members. Also available is six ton of bulk stove coal.

Anyone interested in making an offer please feel free to send me a PM.

Paulie

Sorry I have been to busy to get involved. Well done on getting those stoves available for family sale. I hope somebody on this board can make use of them. Indeed the passing of an era.

good for you Paulie.

still , knowing that the forced gutting of Williams treasures from the house has begun is wrenching

besides the stoves there is and or was LOTS of non replaceable items there, i sure hope they don't get destroyed by goons that are just there to get the house empty on some random timeline

call me sometime, thanks
steve

Bitter sweet news Paulie.

Sad to hear, but hopefully the stoves will stay in the "Coal Pail" family and be appreciated by one of our members. I'm sure that would please William.

Good on you for all your doing to help.

Paul
