Had to change my profile. Switched out the Chubby for a GW6. I've really appreciated the members and owners with their advice from here. It's been burning for a week now, letting it go out for the weekend as we're going out of town, but so far so good as the Mrs. approves. Nothing against the Chubby but we needed a bigger stove for the house. Happy burning all.

Do you live in a train station ? They put out a lot of heat. I won't light till below freezing 24/7.

Lol, not a train station. It is an 1860's stone house w/ single paned windows. When it's been in the 40's and rainy dropping into the 30's at night it has been nice. It may be 85 in the house now with a few windows open at the moment though :o it hasn't been running hard at all which has been nice. It'll be interesting to get it opened up.

FF I have a home made boiler with a Leisure Line stoker that runs 24/365 for hot water and shoulder months. The GW6 is for deep winter cold.

A couple swiggs of liquid heat will take the chill off. Warms you up from the inside out on the way down.

Looking forward to seeing your data, having read my way through your conversion posts I’m sure it will be useful. It would probably help if I hooked up a manometer or weighed my coal, but so far the house is warm and I don’t ‘feel’ like I’m using too much coal. Hopefully you get a nice shiny present under the tree and a stocking full of coal....as one of the members here wish’s for :)
