It just started getting cold here. It was 19 degrees here this morning. The leaves seemed to go from green to off the trees in about 2 weeks. Spent a big chunk of my day raking them up.
The stove will go 12 hours between tending but you really have to tamp it down and then nurse it back to life. I can run it hot for 8-10 hours no problem. I've been impressed with the heat output. You can really feel the heat through the mica doors sitting 5-6 feet away. The stove sticks out 18" from the hearth so it projects into the room pretty far. Plus the tile surrounding the stove heats up and adds to the surface area radiating heat. It suits my needs, does a great job heating. I've also been impressed with how clean it is to operate. Pouring coal into the magazine is quick and easy. There is little recovery time and since I'm not opening the doors and shoveling coal one scoop at a time it reduces dust. Looking forward to another heating season
If you need nickel work done, I'd recommend Mill Lake. Brain does a fantastic job.

Jim, your heater looks very nice.
Just got back from picking up a Latrobe heater for Pauliewog. An early pic. Missing foot bar and CI arch. A new Guniess book of world records price.

Who made that stove? It’s great that these are being saved one at a time
