Stove installed on Sunday. Planning to light it up this Wednesday after work. I'll be able to fiddle with it over the Thanksgiving holiday and provide some updates. It is supposed to get cold here so just in time..
This stove replaced the Chubby. I liked the chubby coal stove (great stove) but I love the antiques. The chubby found another home to heat .

Almost the full Baltimore treatment, very nice. I just do not have the room to do that with mine, very good indeed.

Thanks for the compliments. I just followed my wife's orders on the fireplace design.

I couldn’t wait and fired up the stove this morning. OAT was 30 degrees, it’s supposed to get into the mid 40’s today. Some background on my house. I’ve got a 2-story colonial revival style home made from stone, two exterior chimneys on either side of the house, 4 flues total. Big drafty single pane windows with no wall insulation. The stone is about 18” thick, this place is built like a fortress. The chimneys are about 35 feet tall, I’ve got no problems with draft. The house is the opposite of an open floor plan so it is a pain to heat evenly.
I’ve got a heat pump but my main heat source is coal. I’ve got a hand feed box stove (w/hopper) in the basement hooked to the opposite chimney. It heats the floors and is vented to the main floor. It does a nice job alone until the temps get consistently into the teens and twentys, then I would use the Chubby to keep it nice and warm in the house.
This stove is larger than the Chubby. The firepot is 16” (now 14” with the brick) and about 8” deep. It is a top loader with a magazine. It took almost 3 coal hods to fill er up with nut size. This is probably better designed for stove size but I don’t have any right now. I hooked this stove directly to 6” SS liner with a MPD. Its cruising now, I’ve got the MPD closed, the primary cracked, secondary closed. I sealed up the ashpan door with the silicone method discussed here but I’m seeing some openings around the lower doors that need sealing. The shaker handle also lets some air in. Will definitely need to do some more sealing to get this thing tighter.

Congratulations ! It looks awesome with a fire in its belly.
And a Warm welcome to the Baltimore Club.
Did you have any problems getting it started in indirect mode?

Super clean. Probably the cleanest coal stove installation I've seen. Might be the white trim contrasting it, but gorgeous job. Can't wait to hear the performance comparison to the Chubby. Good luck, and keep us posted.

No issues getting it started, that chimney has got a strong draft. I used some match light then started layering.
It’s been 16 hours since lighting the stove. Still going strong When I started the stove this morning the downstairs temp was 70 degrees and right now we’re sitting at 78
The upstairs temp was at 66 degrees this morning and now we’re at 72.
Happy to be in the Baltimore heater club.
