When I was at Wilson's looking to buy, what later became Simon's Wings Best, I seem to remember that Wilson was telling me that the Wings and GW 6 grates and frame interchange. Can't remember if he said that it took a bit of grinder-customizing to do that.mntbugy wrote: ↑Mon. Sep. 24, 2018 11:16 pmPaulie and I played with Skip's. Our,Wings and 6 . The load doors were very similar. But the GW 6 load door has a different radius to it. Not fitting on the Wings, or the Ours.
I think all 3 have slight differences in the finial.
The skirt pieces not sure about or grate frames.
The two are so close in design, operation, and heat output, I was having trouble picking which to take home until Wilson fired up the GW 6. So, I decided to stay all Glenwood stoves and bought the GW 6.
Just as well, because the pipe collar on the Wings is lower on the back pipe than the GW 6 and Simon needed that lower outlet to have the stove pipe clear under his fireplace's lintel. Even better in the long run because Simon got to add the Wings to his Taunton collection and I love the GW 6.
