Hello. I recently nabbed this from a barn on the family ranch. It's been sitting there for 35+ years. I've been trying to find out more about it, but I'm not having much luck with Google searches. I've tried things like "favorite stoves and fireplaces model 215"....etc. But I cant find a picture that matches this model. Any help would be appreciated. I have the base as well, but I forgot to put it in the picture. There are also two nickel decorative pieces that flank the door, and the insert for the top of the stove.

Welcome MK,

The Favorite line of stoves were good quality stoves made in Ohio. Here's some links of their history. http://www.castironcollector.com/favorite.php
http://goodtimestove.blogspot.com/2008/12/favorit ... inest.html

The 215 likely means a simpler model (200 series ?) and a 15 inch firepot - a good size for heating about 800-1000 sq feet. We have a few members that have Favorite stoves. This is still the slow season on this site. Give them time and they will post more info for you. In the meantime, try the search function using "Favorite 215" and you'll likely find quite a bit.

Paul

Not sure if the website will allow this large of a file to be uploaded but it is an 1892 Favorite stove catalog. I did not see your specific model listed in this year but it will give you more information on the company.

Looks to be built for burning bituminous and maybe wood, definitly not a base-burner or base-heater.
The give away is the over the fire inlet/regulation slots in the loading door.
